Sales Representative - Toronto GTA

Job Description

Build business growth with both existing and new customers. Represent and promote all company products and services in accordance with its directives and policies, through an allotted territory. Adequate sales growth and maximize profitability within the area of assigned responsibilities.

  • Give a priority to the select accounts with an aim of preserving the business with them and of ensuring a continual growth as well as identifying new opportunities with both existing and new customers. 
  • Analysed the territory allotted to find: 
    • All customers with potential hydraulic and pneumatic product use on both a stationary and mobile applications.
    • Identify sales potential both current and future growth.
    • Key account contacts on decision makers (names, job title,phone number and e-mail address);
    • Products manufactured products;
    • Etc.
  • Work out action plan with mapping to identify target accounts and implement these plans in developing relationships to grow the business.
  • Develop communications and create a cordial and friendly relationship with the customers various administrative levels of the management, including engineering, purchasing and Plant/Facility Manager.

  • Define/establish the elements necessary to obtain the sale of the products and services offered by the company.
  • Use the company’s forms for various requisitions.
  • Establish the annual sales forecast; a report is generally requested on an annual bases.
  • Submit a call electronic report of the visits and significant events and an expense report on a weekly basis.
  • Hold a record of the visits to the customers and contacts meet with.
  • Maintain in order and up to date the follow-ups of the various projects both current and in the planning process.
  • Participate in sales meetings and training seminars.
  • Attend trade shows, trade seminars etc. to identity new opportunities.
  • Follow up on sales leads and quotes to select accounts.
  • Work closely with the internal sales team; produce quotes for select accounts with an aim of meeting the dynamics of the customer requirements. Negotiate when needed.
  • Negotiate pricing with the customers and update them on all price increases. Take care to update all customers on the changes before year end and provide them the information accordingly.
  • Plan/schedule joint sales calls with our principal suppliers (Parker Hannifin, Poclain, Duff-Norton, Barksdale, Humphrey, Winters, etc.) representatives in making contact with existing and potential accounts.
  • Submit special reports where required from management.
  • Handle customer concerns (deliveries, warranty, technical support, etc.) in following company’s policies and procedures in getting their concerns addressed.
  • Help resolve delinquent accounts when required.
  • Interact with engineering department to help ensure successful grow of projects and identifying opportunities for the sale of our products and services.
  • Be able to identify the customer applications in selecting components required by the customers on both new and existing situations.
  • Prepare a quarterly review on actual sales versus forecast.
  • Submit a weekly itinerary on calls planned for the week.

Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ experience in sales in working with industrial accounts on an OEM/MRO bases.
  • Proven experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic product lines on both a technical and practical bases.
  • University or College degree with a strong technical background.
  • Be able to identify the customer applications in selecting components required by the customers on both new and existing equipment.
  • Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Well organized, goal driven – self starter
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Bilingual (French) an asset.
  • Proven track record of success selling industrial equipment to commercial, industrial and institutional clients
  • Proven ability to develop new business and achieve sales goals and quotas
